History of BNS

Way back in 1983 a small group of neuroscientists joined together as an informal group known as “Neuro club” with purpose of conducting clinical meetings once a month. As the number grew there was a need for formal organization.

BANGALORE NEUROLOGICAL SOCIETY took its birth on 1stApril 1994. The Present membership is 280 excluding associate members. We now have large number of institutions participating in this programme by rotation. The society has its own logo and website.

The activity of the society continues to be the clinical meetings held 1st Saturday of the month. Where in neuroscientists of different institutions present cases and interact with other members. In addition, CPC and CME programmes are being conducted regularly.

Mallige Medical centre and Indian Epilepsy Association – Bangalore Chapter have donated Rs.50,000/- each to Bangalore Neurological Society to institute Dr. R.M. Varma Orations and K.S.
